Cancers of the Urinary System

When a patient is found to have a cancerous tumor by the urologist, he will discuss with the patient the type of surgery to be done based on the tumors’ size and whether the cancer has spread to the blood stream, lymph nodes, or other bodily organs. Following surgery, the patient may be referred to an oncologist for chemotherapy treatment and a radiologist for radiation treatments to assure that the cancer does not reoccur.
