Dr. John Pirani, a native of Memphis, Tennessee, attended Christian Brothers University and the University of Tennessee School of Medicine where he graduated with highest honors. He came to Gadsden after completing his surgical and urologic residency at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Pirani is the current Chief Medical Officer, past Chief of Staff at Gadsden Regional Medical Center and past President of The Etowah County Medical Society. Dr. Pirani is certified by the American Board of Urology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He has been trained in advanced laparoscopic procedures including the da Vinci® robot and prostatic brachytherapy. Dr. Pirani is a member of the American Urological Association and American Association of Clinical Urologists.
Through Dr. Pirani’s career as a urologist and seeing the need for early detection and education of testicular cancer and prostate cancer awareness, he is the cofounder of Man Up Gadsden, a non profit organization focusing on men’s health.
Dr. Pirani and his wife, Connie, have two boys. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, fitness training, and spending quality time with his family.
